The PMP Winter Residency
DECEMBER 30, 2026 – JANUARY 11, 2027
One of the most unique aspects of the PMP Winter Residency is the opportunity for the public to experience the artistic journey of these extraordinary young musicians. Throughout the Residency, we open our rehearsals, performances and classes so audiences can witness firsthand the dedication, collaboration, and growth that define The Perlman Music Program.
Many of these events are free and open to the public, making them accessible to everyone. Attend Works in Progress (WIPs) as students refine solo repertoire, observe Orchestra Rehearsals led by Maestro Itzhak Perlman, enjoy Chorus Rehearsals with students and faculty, and experience inspiring Chamber Music recitals by student quartets.
You are also invited to observe live Masterclasses with instrument studios. Viola and cello faculty work closely with students in a supportive learning environment that offers valuable insight for musicians and music lovers alike.
A Residency favorite returns with Super Strings, featuring exceptional students from the Sarasota Music Conservatory performing side-by-side with PMP orchestra students under the baton of Maestro Itzhak Perlman. Many of these local musicians also perform with the Sarasota Youth Orchestra and other outstanding youth orchestras throughout Florida. This inspiring collaboration gives them the opportunity to rehearse and perform one of the works featured at the Celebration Concert, a memorable experience for the students and audience alike.
The complete Winter Residency Schedule and registration information will be available in November. While many events are free, advance registration is encouraged for faster entry. All attendees must present their ticket with a QR code for admission.
