Perlman Music Program/ Suncoast, Inc. ("PMP/S") was formed to create a permanent home in Southwest Florida for The Perlman Music Program Winter Residency.
The Perlman Music Program ("PMP") is one-of-a-kind professional development program for approximately 35 exceptionally gifted musicians, ages 12-20+, from around the world who play violin, viola, cello, and double bass. PMP students are considered to be the future of music. |

Summer Program
The six-week program summer on Shelter Island, has participating PMP students travelling there from all over the world. They represent countries as diverse as the United States, Armenia, Bulgaria, Israel, Romania, Russia, Sweden, and Taiwan. Led by internationally acclaimed concert violinist and conductor, Itzhak Perlman, and his wife and founder of PMP, Toby Perlman, this program provides intensive training within a nurturing environment. |
Sarasota Winter Residency
Thanks to a partnership with the University of South Florida Sarasota Manatee, PMP has a campus setting for daily PMP student activities and special event tent raised on the USF Sarasota/Manatee courtyard for over 10,000 community members and visitors to attend nearly 20 free events. Free events include orchestra rehearsals directed by Itzhak Perlman, chorus rehearsals directed by Patrick Romano, master classes, and Works-In-Progress student recitals. The culmination of the PMP Winter Residency is the Celebration Concert at the Sarasota Opera House, on Saturday January 2, 2010.
NEW! Sarasota Education/Outreach Program
New for the 2009-2010 season, an education/outreach program has been added to serve the local schools of Sarasota and Manatee Counties during the academic year.
